is printing off my blog! So this brings an end to the long road that has been my FMP!
I showed my FMP to Debbie and Rachael this week and they said to get it bound, so that's done! So glad I didn't have to change anything. Research file is printed, just need to spend some time organising it, and need to alphabetise my bibliography. What fun!
So now all I need to do is print off my blog and get that in the research file. Looking back, it has been a really good way of documenting my progress and shows how productive I've been in a fairly short space of time! I could probably have posted on here more often, with a few more shots of my work, but to be honest the weeks speed by so quickly it's Friday before I know it! Posting with an update every Friday has been a good way of marking the end of a week's work and allowing me to reflect on it. Overall, writing a blog has been a great experience - and who knows, maybe I will continue in future?!
I'm really pleased with the finished result of my FMP and just want to say on here thank you to the tutors at the FRA for all their help and advice with this, and for the rest of the year! Coming to the FRA was the best decision I ever made. Now to enjoy a few weeks of freedom before I start work....

Light at the end of the tunnel...
Well it's Friday, and this will probably be my LAST update post!
So this week I had to finish off my sourcing and do my garment tech, then crack on with bibliography etc. Sourcing and Garment Tech were (somehow!) done by Tuesday evening, which has left me the rest of the week to proofread everything and make a start on bibliography.
Luckily I had been making a research file of sorts as I went along, particularly early on in the process when I was doing a lot of research. This is just a collection of screen grabs with their URLs underneath - now I'm going through sorting them all into topic area. Takes a lot longer than I would have thought and I'm glad I've finished the main chunk of work early!
I also spent about four hours at college yesterday afternoon printing everything. Debbie says she wants to see it on Monday and help with layout - I hope she doesn't notice any gaps or things she really doesn't like! Don't think I have the energy to go back and change everything!
So today I'm going to lay out the project how I would do it, and see whether Debbie likes it on Monday. I'm also going to try and get my evaluation done as that needs to go at the back of the FMP. Then I'm going to take the weekend off and enjoy this beautiful weather!

Time is ticking!
Hello!
Just got time for a quick update on what I've done for the past week and what the plan is for next week. I don't feel like I was as productive this week, been starting a lot of bits and bobs and only half-finishing them, which makes me feel quite disorganised. And the weekend was a washout where work is concerned as I had to take my boyfriend to hospital with a sprained ankle first thing on Friday! Fun times.
Anyway, here is the stuff I have done this week (no interesting pictures I'm afraid...):
Hand in is TWO WEEKS on FRIDAY!! Let's hope this week I can get plenty done...

- Most of sourcing is done, just need to finish the critical path
- Merchandising (including WSSI and delivery schedule)
- A little bit more about online publicity
- Started thinking about garment tech
- Started putting together my research file

Lookbook & Update
Here's a few more shots of the bits that are interesting to look at! I've done a lookbook for each of the ranges, using street style images as styling inspiration which is exactly what this range is about. So here's some screengrabs of the pages:
Also just to give a little update on my progress. The lookbook and pages about publicity (the website shots etc) was actually timetabled for a couple of weeks' time, but when I looked at my timetable last week, I realised I hadn't actually set aside any time for writing my bibliography or putting together my research file, which could take a fair amount of time. So I have now been able to clear the week I put aside for lookbook etc., which can now be used for writing the bibliography and doing the research file.
This week I am writing my sourcing strategy and PESTEL report. Luckily I am using several of the same COOs as I have used in my previous Sourcing assignments, and Rachael said we could use any relevant info we already have. This is a huge lifesaver as PESTEL research takes a loooong time. So I am going to be cracking on with that for the rest of the week, and hopefully squeeze in a cheeky bit of merch too so I can show Angie next week.

Range Plan
Well there's no time like the present so instead of posting my ranges tomorrow I'll just do them now, otherwise I will forget!
Feel like I am grinding to a halt this evening, so I will do something a bit more relaxing and choose the street style images I want to use for my lookbook. I'm planning on showing a few outfits built from each range, with a street style image next to them showing that look. I've got hundreds of street pics on my computer so that may take a while.
In the meantime, here are my ranges for WORK, REST and PLAY!

Although PLAY is the one I did last, and probably the one I found hardest to do at the time, it is definitely my favourite in terms of the end result! Think I will use this range to base my sourcing on (doing a critical path for 42 options could take a long time...)
Web layouts
Another week has nearly passed, I've been cracking on. Feel like this week has been really productive (just waiting to slow down and be completely rubbish next week). Hopefully not - target for next week is to sort out my Sourcing strategy, critical path etc.
This week I have done:
Tomorrow I will try and post some pictures of my three ranges, but for now here are the mock-ups I've done for the webpages. I've kept the look very minimal to tie in with ASOS's general look, and also to reinforce the fact that ASOS EDITS is all about simplifying shopping.
This week I have done:
- My ranges
- A range plan spreadsheet
- Price architectures
- An explanation of my Sales plan for Merchandising (as my FMP is online-only I haven't been able to do all the spreadsheets for merch as they are based on working out sales, options etc. from physical space)
- Web layouts for the ASOS Facebook page, Facebook store, and main website.

Where did the week go?
There definitely aren't enough hours in the day to get this all done! Can't believe its been a week since my last post. I've had to make this blog private so I don't get in trouble for copyright over other people's pictures : /
So now I really am just talking to myself... Anyway here is what I've been working on this week. Have done a very brief trend overview, finished the comp shop, and done mood and trend/product development boards for my three trends. Feels like I've been working 24/7! The photoshop bits should take the longest though so hopefully once my range is done I can pick up the pace a bit. I've got all my templates sorted, now I just need to make the range!
